The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will play a pivotal role in leading daily operations, driving strategic initiatives, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement to support the company’s ongoing growth and reputation for innovation.

About the Position

This position is a senior C-suite executive who serves as the second-in-command to the CEO. The COO focuses on overseeing and executing the day-to-day operations of an organization, turning high-level strategy into practical, efficient execution. While the CEO typically handles long-term vision, external relations, and overall direction, the COO ensures internal operations run smoothly to support those goals.

Salary Range: $150,000-$200,000 (based on experience) with performance-based bonuses.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all day-to-day operations, including production, fabrication, logistics, and quality control
  • Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with company goals
  • Monitor key performance metrics and lead continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and execute long-term business strategies
  • Translate strategic plans into actionable operational objectives
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for expansion, efficiency improvements, and cost reduction
  • Lead, mentor, and develop department heads and operational teams
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
  • Support workforce planning, talent development, and succession planning
  • Manage operational budgets and ensure cost-effective resource allocation
  • Partner with finance to analyze financial performance and improve profitability
  • Drive efficiency initiatives to meet or exceed financial targets
  • Implement lean manufacturing and process improvement methodologies
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies
  • Oversee quality assurance programs and continuous improvement systems
  • Support business development and customer satisfaction initiatives
  • Strengthen relationships with key clients, suppliers, and partners
  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality products

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (MBA preferred)
  • 10+ years of senior leadership experience in manufacturing or fabrication environments
  • Proven track record of operational excellence and scaling business operations
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and P&L
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodologies
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Strategic thinking and execution abilities
  • Expertise in team development and change management
  • Ability to make effective decisions under pressure
