Development Director

Position Overview

True Women’s Center seeks a results-oriented, mission-aligned Director of Development to lead its philanthropic growth and build a durable, relationship-centered fundraising program. Reporting to the Executive Director, this leader will own the development strategy, personally cultivate and solicit significant gifts, expand the donor base, and steward relationships with individuals, churches, businesses, foundations, and community partners.

The successful candidate will bring demonstrated experience securing substantial philanthropic commitments and the ability to develop, manage, and execute a credible plan to generate at least $1 million in annual contributed revenue, with capacity for growth. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both strategic direction and direct donor engagement. Fundraising results will be evaluated against an approved annual plan, available donor base, and organizational resources; the seven-figure goal is an expectation of capability and program scale, not a representation of current revenue.

  • Data and operational discipline: Maintain accurate, confidential donor and prospect records; use the donor database to track moves management, pledges, gift acknowledgments, segmentation, and results. Establish reporting practices and sound data safeguards.
  • Team and volunteer leadership: Coordinate development-related staff, contractors, committees, and volunteers as assigned. Build processes and, as resources allow, help develop a high-performing development function.
  • Financial stewardship: Manage development budgets, evaluate fundraising return on investment, and recommend adjustments based on measurable outcomes.

  • Progress toward an approved annual contributed-revenue goal of $1 million or more, including gifts personally solicited and closed.
  • Number, quality, and progression of qualified major-gift relationships; meaningful donor meetings, proposals, and solicitations.
