Our Story:
Providence Academy is a non-denominational Christian school serving students from pre-school to sixth grade. They are located in Parma, Ohio and are accredited by Association of Classical Christian Schools (ACCS).
Providence Academy is committed to providing students with a classical Christian education. Our school exists to equip students with the wisdom to distinguish the true, the good, and the beautiful for the glory of Christ. The school comes alongside to partner with parents to immerse the child with a thoroughly Christian worldview. To accomplish this aim, the school provides students with an academically rigorous curriculum and formal discipleship program in a joyful learning environment.
Statement of Faith
Providence Academy embraces the historic tenets of Christianity as presented in this Statement of Faith. Beyond these primary doctrines, we respect and acknowledge the primacy of the family and refer any secondary doctrinal questions to parents for clarification.
- We believe there is one eternal God existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
- We believe the Bible is the Word of God, verbally inspired and inerrant, and is the supreme and final authority in faith and life.
- We believe God created the Heavens and the Earth, and created man in His image.
- We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. We believe that God’s design for marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other.
- We believe that humankind, by disobedience, fell from a sinless state at the suggestion of Satan. This fall plunged humankind into a state of sin and spiritual death, and brought upon all humanity the sentence of eternal death. From this condition, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely necessary for salvation.
- We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who repent of their sin and trust Christ. Salvation is by God’s grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.
- We believe Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh, born of a virgin; He lived a sinless life, suffered and died on our behalf, and He arose bodily from the grave, ascended to the right hand of the Father and is coming again in power and glory.
- We believe faith without works is dead. The present ministry of the Holy Spirit is to indwell (live within) the Christian, enabling him to live a godly life.
- We believe there will be a bodily resurrection of the saved to life and of the lost to damnation.
What is Grammar School?
Grammar school is far more than a rigorous learning of sentence and word structures. In the world of classical education, grammar school refers to the early building blocks of a student’s development. More precisely, the word “grammar” can be defined as “the basic elements of an area of knowledge or skill.” In Providence Academy Grammar School students study the foundational elements of various subjects in order to prepare them for the later stages of reasoning through and applying that material (Logic & Rhetoric).
The classical approach uniquely harnesses the student’s psychological and cognitive stage of development. Through an engaging and dynamic methodology students explore and immerse themselves into the subjects that are taught. Through the use of songs, chants, games, story telling, and other enjoyable activities students are able to retain a significant amount of information, a skill that is foundational for logically ordered thinking.

About the Position:
Providence Academy seeking educators who are committed to historic Christian faith and practice, passionate about academic excellence, and committed to co-laboring with parents and churches to raise the next generation. There are currently open positions for teaching kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade.
Teaching at Providence Academy is a rewarding experience where you will be part of a team dedicated to making an impact in the lives of students. A teacher’s primary responsibility entails the development and implementation of curriculum.
Salary: $36,000-$42,000 annually

Job Duties
- Plan and implement instruction for students.
- Communicate with parents regarding the progress of the student (academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually).
- Utilize effective classroom management skills for implementing lessons and maintaining respectful behavior.
- Shepherd students’ hearts and minds by providing biblical, gospel-filled instruction, correction, and encouragement.
- Monitor and evaluate students’ participation and progress and communicate that with parents through written report cards and through conversations as needed.
- Work collaboratively with grade-level teaching team.
- Participate in faculty meetings and in the overall life and community of the school
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
- 3-5 years of teaching experience.
- Possess a solid knowledge of the skills and subjects being taught.
- Understands foundational elements of classical education.
- Diligent worker; life-long learner; clear communicator.
- A mature Christian faith, displayed in godly conduct, firm personal convictions, and charity towards different but historically orthodox positions.
- An enjoyment of being with children.
