Meet Dr. David Funk

Senior Search Consultant

A retired university educator and administrator, Dr. David Funk has served in a variety of capacities within Christian higher education for nearly 25 years. His experiences include working with executive and governing board teams, strategic planning, and, most recently, directing Multnomah University’s office of institutional effectiveness. In this role, Dave championed the university’s continuous quality improvement processes and spearheaded its accreditation and programmatic assessment efforts. He’s a presenter and trainer who likes to use creativity and humor to engage his audience.

Dave received his bachelor’s degree in business management from Washington State University, and graduated with a master’s degree in biblical and theological studies from Multnomah Biblical Seminary. He earned the PhD in leadership studies from Gonzaga University, where his research focused on the future of servant-leadership preparation within Christian higher education.

Dave and his wife, Kristy, live in the Spokane area, where they love to spend summer afternoons on nearby Deer Lake. They have an adult daughter, Lilly, who daily challenges her dad at Wordle.
