Our Painting & Wallcovering division as well as our Ceilings and Specialties division had the pleasure of working with NVIDIA on their latest campus in Santa Clara, California.

Construction of NVidia Voyager started in 2019 and finished in 2022. Our team top-coated 620,000 sq.ft. of exposed ceiling areas, coated 445,000 sq.ft. of interior walls, painted 896,000 sq.ft. of parking garage surfaces, covered 127,000 sq.ft. of exterior steel, and primed over 40,000 sq.ft. of walls for the Wallcovering division to complete their scope.

About the Position:

The Painting & Wallcovering Project Manager plays a critical role in the successful execution of painting and wallcovering projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards while maintaining exceptional client satisfaction. By overseeing all aspects of project management, from planning and coordination to team leadership and client communication, the Painting and Wallcovering Project Manager serves as the primary driver of project success. With a focus on effective resource management, risk mitigation, and proactive problem-solving, the Painting and Wallcovering Project Manager contributes to the company’s reputation for excellence in the painting/wall coverings industry. Ultimately, the purpose of the Painting and Wallcovering Project Manager is to deliver high-quality, on-time, and within-budget painting projects that exceed client expectations and contribute to the growth and success of the organization.

Location: San Jose, CA

Compensation: $118,000 – $176,000 per year

Job Duties

Project Planning and Execution:
  • Develop and execute project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Monitor project progress and address any issues or delays promptly.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and motivate project teams, including painters, supervisors, and administrative staff.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure high performance and productivity.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Communicate project status updates, address client concerns, and manage expectations.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to secure future business opportunities.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure work meets industry standards and client requirements.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality audits to identify and address any deficiencies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and project specifications.
Financial Management:
  • Monitor project budgets and expenses to ensure profitability.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize project finances.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for internal stakeholders and clients.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions.
  • Proactively manage project risks related to safety, schedule delays, and budget overruns.
  • Implement contingency plans as needed to address unforeseen challenges.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain thorough and accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and correspondence.
  • Prepare comprehensive project reports, including progress updates, financial summaries, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure all documentation is organized and accessible for internal and external stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the project management process.
  • Implement best practices and lessons learned from previous projects to enhance performance and results.
  • Encourage a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the project team.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in project management within the construction industry, preferably with specific experience in painting and wallcovering projects.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office suite.
