We’re specifically looking for experienced solar sales professionals interested in expanding their skillset into roofing and full exterior project consulting. Our model is built around integrated Roof + Solar solutions, real operational support, and strong collaboration between Sales and Ops.

Role Overview

As an Electrical Journeyman with IronHead’s Solar Division, you will perform electrical work associated with residential and commercial solar installations, with a particular emphasis on helping lead the electrical scope of our growing commercial solar projects.

You will work closely with our solar installation crew lead and other members of the field team to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, professionally, and according to applicable electrical codes and IronHead’s quality standards.

The role includes new solar installations as well as electrical service, system troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, and ongoing support. You will work with Tesla and Enphase systems and receive hands-on training to expand your solar knowledge and technical capabilities.

This is a field-based position for someone who enjoys solving problems, takes pride in high-quality electrical work, works well as part of a team, and wants the opportunity to grow with a developing solar operation.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Compensation: $32–$48/hour, depending on experience
Benefits:
Paid Time Off: 80 hours annually, front-loaded after 90 days of employment
Expanded PTO: Increases to 120 hours annually after three years of service

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical work for residential and commercial solar installations in accordance with applicable codes, plans, specifications, and safety requirements
  • Take a lead role in the electrical scope of solar projects, particularly commercial installations
  • Work alongside the solar crew lead to coordinate electrical work with overall installation activities
  • Install, connect, test, and commission electrical components associated with photovoltaic systems
  • Work with Tesla and Enphase solar equipment and related system components
  • Perform electrical service work, diagnostics, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on solar systems
  • Identify electrical or system issues and develop practical, safe, and effective solutions
  • Ensure electrical installations meet company quality standards and applicable electrical codes
  • Maintain a strong commitment to jobsite safety and OSHA requirements
  • Communicate effectively with crew members, project leadership, customers, and other trades when necessary
  • Help ensure projects remain organized, efficient, and on schedule
  • Maintain company tools, equipment, and assigned company vehicle in a professional manner
  • Continue developing knowledge of residential and commercial solar technology, equipment, installation methods, and industry best practices
  • Support the continued development of IronHead’s in-house electrical capabilities as the solar division grows
  • Take on increasing leadership responsibility based on experience, performance, and the continued growth of the division

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • Current Electrical Journeyman license applicable to the work being performed
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, electrical installation practices, and applicable codes
  • OSHA 10 certification
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to safely operate a company van
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in active residential and commercial construction environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Dependable, organized, and capable of working both independently and as part of a field team
  • Strong communication skills and a professional approach to customers, coworkers, and project partners
  • Willingness to learn solar technology, installation methods, and equipment

Preferred

  • Previous residential and/or commercial solar installation experience
  • Experience working with photovoltaic electrical systems
  • Familiarity with Tesla and/or Enphase systems
  • Commercial electrical experience
  • Experience leading electrical work or providing field leadership on construction projects
  • NABCEP certification
  • Interest in growing into a larger leadership role within IronHead’s solar and electrical operations
