Meet Dr. Anna Downey

With over thirty years of working in faith-based schools, Dr. Anna Downey has determinedly practiced transformational leadership in Catholic education. She has extensive experience integrating technology throughout organizations and leading administrative departments and instructional teams to build successful action plans.

Anna is a graduate of the College of Mount Saint Joseph in Cincinnati, Ohio. She earned her Master of Education at Jones International University and a Doctor of Education at Union Institute & University. Downey spent 25 years as a teacher and administrator in single-sex Catholic education and five years teaching in an urban Franciscan high school in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Superintendent of Catholic Schools in Cincinnati describes her as “innovative” and “passionate about Catholic and faith-based education.” In 2018, the University of Cincinnati Economics Center recognized Anna as high school Educator of the Year out of a cohort of 165 teachers from parochial and public schools who participated in their program.

A big believer in disruption and forward-thinking decision making, Anna has presented locally and nationally regarding education and the necessity of partnerships for organizational effectiveness. In the summer of 2022, Anna will be presenting at the International Coalition of Girls School in Boston and featured in a podcast with an international educational technology company.

Anna is married with two adult children and a grandson who has captured her heart, making her feel like the luckiest woman alive! Anna loves spending time outdoors with her family and two dogs.
