Role Overview

As a Valley Roofing Sales Representative, you’ll sell residential and light commercial roofing solutions across the Valley and surrounding Oregon markets. You’ll generate your own leads through canvassing, referrals, and community networking while also working opportunities that come through our marketing engine.

This is a field-first, relationship-driven role. You’ll run in-home and on-site consultations, design proposals using our sales tools, and guide customers from first conversation through signed contracts. Production and installation are handled by our in-house team — your job is to open doors, build trust, and close.

Key Responsibilities

  • Self-generate leads through door-to-door canvassing, referral development, community events, and local networking
  • Leverage Valley’s existing roofing customer base and builder/GC relationships to identify new opportunities
  • Conduct residential and commercial site consultations; assess needs and present customized roofing proposals
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through signed contract and project handoff
  • Maintain an active, organized pipeline with consistent follow-up at every stage
  • Collaborate with production and project coordination teams to ensure smooth customer handoffs
  • Stay current on roofing incentives, new products, financing options, and market trends in Oregon
  • Represent Valley professionally at community events, home shows, and networking functions

Your First 90 Days

  • Learn about roofing products, financing options, and proposal tools
  • Shadow installs and meet the production team — understand what you’re selling end to end
  • Begin working warm leads from the roofing customer base
  • Run your first consultations and close your first projects
  • Establish a weekly prospecting rhythm and CRM discipline

Who Thrives Here

  • Proactive by default – You’re already following up, knocking doors, asking for referrals, networking in the community, and creating opportunities before anyone has to push you to do it.
  • Relationship-driven – You understand that homeowners are trusting you with one of the biggest investments they have. Trust, communication, and reputation matter — and you play the long game.
  • Accountable – You own your numbers, your pipeline, and your outcomes. No excuses, no blaming leads, and no waiting around for someone else to create success for you.
  • Competitive – You like winning, tracking your numbers, and being surrounded by other high performers. You don’t need constant motivation because performance matters to you personally.
  • Consultative – You diagnose problems, educate homeowners, and guide people to confident decisions instead of using pressure tactics or “selling roofs.”
  • Detail-oriented – enough to properly manage the process, not just close the deal. You understand that clean documentation, CRM discipline, communication, and accurate handoffs are part of being a true professional.
