Originally from Neosho, MO, I graduated high school in 2001, and attended Southwest Baptist University. I graduated from SBU in 2005 and the summer after graduation I married the love of my life, Ashley, who is a middle school reading teacher in Ozark. The Lord has blessed us with four beautiful children – Abby, Benjamin, Isaac, and Susanna. I attended Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary in Memphis, TN, graduating in 2008 with an MDiv. In 2022, I received a Ph.D. in Historical Theology from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, writing my dissertation on the ecclesiology of John Bunyan.
My wife, Beth, and I will celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary this year. We have three wonderful boys and are absolutely blessed to be part of the FBCN family. I have been on staff here at FBCN now for over 27 years. I seek to be a resource and a help for all of our ministries and love to see people grow in their faith…we call it discipleship. I earned my Master’s Degree in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Business Admin. from Drury University.
I am originally from Mount Vernon, MO. I graduated High School in 2006 and attended Southwest Baptist University, where I graduated in 2010 with a degree in Biblical Studies. In 2018, I graduated from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Masters in Theological Studies. Prior to coming to First Baptist Nixa, I served as the Student Pastor at Macedonia Baptist Church in Springfield, MO. The Lord has blessed my wife, Amanda, and I with two beautiful daughters – Gentry and Hadley.
About the Position:
First Baptist Nixa is seeking a Worship/Media Pastor to join our pastoral team in a full- time capacity. We are looking for a mature, gifted, and godly leader with a heart for shepherding people and leading corporate worship that is rooted in biblical truth and marked by sincere joy. This is a multifaceted role that includes leadership in worship and media ministries, pastoral responsibilities, and other ministry areas aligned with the candidate’s gifting.
Salary: $50,000 – $60,000 annually (plus benefits totaling $20,000)

Location: Nixa, MO
Responsibilities:
Worship Ministry Leadership (50%)
- Lead the church in corporate worship through psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs that exalt Christ and are rich in biblical truth.
- Plan and lead worship for both current and future Sunday morning gatherings (as growth may necessitate multiple services).
- Develop, equip, and shepherd the worship team—both musically and spiritually.
- Select music that reflects theological depth and a balance of ancient and modern styles.
- Cultivate an atmosphere of preparation, excellence, and joyful participation.
Media & Communications
- Oversee the media team and enhance our audio/visual worship environment.
- Create and manage compelling video content and visual elements for worship gatherings.
- Maintain and grow our online presence across multiple platforms in a way that communicates the message and mission of First Baptist Nixa effectively.
Pastoral Ministry (25%)
- Provide pastoral care through one-on-one discipleship and small group engagement.
- Occasionally teach in public settings.
- Serve as an elder, helping oversee the church’s ministry, missions, and membership.
Additional Ministry (25%)
- Contribute to an additional ministry area based on your gifting and current needs (e.g., biblical counseling, men’s ministry, missions, or family ministry).
- This aspect will be tailored in consultation with the elders during the interview process.
Qualifications:
- A deep and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Strong biblical and theological foundation, preferably in the Reformed evangelical tradition.
- Ability to joyfully and sincerely lead others in worship.
- Skilled in music, media production, and team leadership.
- Master’s degree from an accredited seminary is preferred (or equivalent informal theological training).
- Agreement with the First Baptist Nixa Member Statement of Faith and substantial agreement with the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith.
