Calvary Church is a non-denominational church and was founded in 1948. We have been blessed with an amazing, 8-acre campus with a 700 seat sanctuary. There are over 70,000 sq feet of classrooms, an athletic field, and a multi-purpose gym. The church is the home to Calvary Christian School, one of West LA’s premiere PS-8th grade schools and a vital ministry of Calvary Church. To further our discipleship, we also have vibrant men’s and women’s ministries where deeper spiritual formation is happening. We are actively engaged in serving the city through strategic partnerships and intentional outreach. We see church as a place to call home. About the Position:
The role of Children’s Ministry Director at Calvary Church of Pacific Palisades is to lead and oversee the Calvary Kids program (birth – 5th grade) through discipleship, engaging programming, and intentional pastoring. Additionally, this role will help reach unchurched families at Calvary Christian School and throughout West Los Angeles.
Location: Pacific Palisades, CA
Salary: $65,000 – $75,000 annually
Benefits: Medical/Dental/Vision, life insurance, disability insurance, FSA, 403b retirement, *partial tuition remission for Calvary Christian School.
*Full-time employees are eligible for partial tuition remission for their children to attend school at Calvary Christian School if qualified and admitted as part of the normal admissions process.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the Calvary Kids Ministry staff team
- Build, evaluate, and equip a Ministry designed around the values and mission of Calvary Church
- Recruit, train, deploy, mentor, and nurture a volunteer team that is passionate about serving kids in our community
- Execute quality and engaging Sunday and mid-week programming that serves families in our community and disciples children
- Lead weekly Calvary Christian School chapels for TK-5th grade students
- Attend, lead, and direct annual summer camp activities (currently at Hume Lake each August)
- Collaborate with Calvary Student Ministry (middle school and high school) to support and reach families in West Los Angeles
- Manage budget, calendar, and communications for the Children’s Ministry program
- Additional pastoral duties may be added based off giftings, church needs, and direction of supervisor
- Oversees Nursery Lead, Preschool Lead, and other Children’s Ministry part-time employees
- Reports to Associate Pastor of Students and Children

- Lives a public and private life that honors and loves Jesus
- Desires to deeply care and pastor children and their families
- Has an evangelistic heart and mind for reaching unchurched families in West Los Angeles and at Calvary Christian School
- Maintains physical and emotional health needed to pastor kids children
- Must be a team player
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Proven pastoral and ministry experience of 2-5 years in a church ministry, serving children
- Prefer teaching experience in a Christian-focused Pre-K or elementary environment
Church Relationships:
- All paid staff (including their families) must be active members, attenders, and participants of Calvary Church of Pacific Palisades.
